A Truck O' Tricks

September - October 2020

My favourite “Shoulder” Season of flaming leaves, crisp mornings & harvest moons.

Bricks, tree roots, overgrown plants, fallen leaves

This is what the second wave looks like in the year of the Pandemic? It's hard to imagine scaling back on social circles when our Carving workshop is now open to a limited number of participants, and some of our group are still outside carving in the Park. Look for the master craftsmen on Monday afternoons 12:30 onward…

Inktober is ON, visit my Instagram for daily inspiration. Blackberry Gift Shop at Port Moody Art Centre is OPEN again & six carvings are currently on display.

Library Exhibits have been installed once more. If you live locally in Tri-Cities please check out Poirier Library for the month of October as I have three cottonwood bark carvings in the setting:

  1. “Beacon” Lighthouse

  2. Hogwarts Tower (small)

  3. Hogwarts Express

A trip is planned to Quesnel, Ten Mile Lake to be exact, where friends of ours have amassed HALF A TRUCK LOAD of thick cottonwood bark. I’m very excited to bring home this supply; needing some unique pieces to inspire future carving... Watch for it!
