"Ever since visiting the East Coast I fell in love with the colourful, oceanside boathouses in the Maritime Provinces. This piece of cottonwood bark particularly lends itself to depicting a cove in the Atlantic. Carvers were discarding strips of bark that they thought were not useful... and I immediately saw the potential to capture a seaside vista. I have made four private commissions leading up to this creation. I plan to capture Mahone Bay next, a favorite place of mine - Mariners enjoy!"
